Miles Salter – Bio
‘It’s all about communication,’ says writer, musician and storyteller Miles Salter. Miles’ work has included writing for BBC Radio, journalism for national newspapers and hundreds of performances in schools, libraries and at festivals.
His tongue-in-cheek approach to storytelling has brought spontaneous laughter from children all over the north of England, and his music and poetry has featured at festivals such as Cambridge Folk Festival and Ilkley Literature Festival, and at venues including Hull Truck Theatre, York Theatre Royal and the National Centre for Early Music. He has also been compere at Beverley Folk Festival’s late night tent and has been Director of York Literature Festival since 1999. His second poetry collection Animals was acclaimed by critics in 2013, and his performances for adults blend music and poetry for a unique blend of entertainment and insight.
Miles’ latest book is Howl: A Small and Heavy Adventure, for children aged 7 – 10, is published in November 2015.
Whether it’s infectious storytelling for families, soulful vocals or thought provoking poetry you’re after, Miles is your man.
